Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great makes you feel that you, too, can be great. – Mark Twain
Lisa’s Essential Message
Through writing, speaking and coaching Lisa connects people with the theory of psychology in a way that they can use with immediate effect. My essential message is a simple one; I am passionate and driven to help people find their core purpose through the combined use of psychology and coaching. Having been plagued with self doubt and low self esteem for many years, I know how important it is to follow your true calling. I believe that your past may have had a negative impact on your life, but it does not have to shape your future. We all have a sense of what we would like to be, but, sadly, all too often we are also filled with reasons why we shouldn’t be that way.
I know when you are living an authentic life many of the ills and frustrations of life dissipate. Regardless of whether it is at work, in relationships, family life, ongoing commitments, if you are hiding your true self you will not be fulfilled and will always have a sense deep within that something is missing. Yes it can often be masked quite successfully for many years through forming unhealthy habits, be they overeating, drinking to excess, incessant surfing on the net, overspending, not exercising, mindlessly watching television or forming unhealthy relationships. These are all ways we keep ourselves stuck and excused from our true nature. When we are living our life on purpose we no longer rely or need a quick fix to numb our feelings as we see that we deserve only things which nourish us. We know that our body often demands more of what it doesn’t need because we have created a cycle of filling up on stimulants rather than listening to our true essence. I offer insights through coaching and workshops in helping you recognise and replace these negative habits and enable you to develop renewed vitality and confidence that lasts.
I liken my work to the Maori word ‘Koru’ which represents renewed energy and new beginning. It is seen in many forms, commonly the unfolding fern and the breaking wave. I see my business as helping others in finding their new beginning and I look forward to assisting you in the near future.

Thanks for making me feel a little bit more confident, a little happier and healthier each time I finish my session with you. I always feel so deliberate when I walk out from our sessions and have a clearer picture on how to tackle my hurdles.
I was stuck in a corporate job I hated. Each day I walked into the office I felt a little part of me die. I was struck by how capable Lisa was at making sense of day to day stress and the long term effects it has on happiness. I was a bit of a sceptic as I’ve never seen a counsellor or a coach before and was doubtful of how she could really help – how wrong I was! Talking about my current situation made me realise how stuck and unhappy I actually was. Through Lisa’s gentle guidance I started to see that I had many options. I began making decisions in line with what I really wanted. Lisa’s unconditional support helped me switch jobs and learn to speak honestly about what I actually wanted. Thank you Lisa.
I have battled with depression for over 20 years and also, increasingly, with social anxiety and having just found out I was losing my sight I started seeing Lisa. She was engaging to talk to and never did the whole sunshine and happy thoughts bit, but would let me talk about what I was feeling and offer up ways that could help with the individual issues at the time. Unlike most people that I’ve dealt with over the years, she genuinely cared about what I was going through. Through my sessions with Lisa, I started to feel better enough to start thinking of my future, going blind didn’t have to mean sitting alone in my flat for the rest of my life. I’d missed the chance of university when I left school and had always regretted it and with the help Lisa had given me I stopped seeing my current situation as an end and started looking at it as a new beginning. And I can proudly say that as well as being back at work, I’m now also well into the first year studying for a degree. And haven’t felt this fulfilled possibly ever! I will always be eternally grateful for having the chance to have worked with Lisa. I would most certainly be in a far different place if I had not.
